Program Coordinator, LECThe George Mason University, Law & Economics Center (LEC) within the Antonin Scalia Law School, is searching for a Program Coordinator for its Henry G. Manne Programs, Attorneys General Education Programs (AGEP), Program on Economics & Privacy (PEP), and Tribal Law & Economics Program (TLEP). Since its inception in 1974, the LEC has recognized the importance of timely, relevant research on public policy matters, as well as the need to communicate research findings to those who shape policy decisions. The LEC is committed to developing original, high-quality law and economics research and education programs that enhance economic understanding and provide a consistent, rational voice that bolsters today's policy discussions. Responsibilities:The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Law & Economics Center's (LEC) Henry G. Manne Programs, Attorneys General Education Programs (AGEP), Program on Economics & Privacy (PEP), and Tribal Law & Economics Program (TLEP) by managing educational programs for state attorneys general, staff, faculty, academic researchers, and legal and policy professionals. Working closely with the LEC Executive Director, the Program Coordinator helps develop recruiting strategies to attract attendees to the LEC's programs, serves as the primary contact for program attendees and speakers, markets the programs, manages program registrations, updates and maintains contact databases in state AG offices, law schools, and other constituencies, manages and improves event timelines and task lists, creates and distributes program reports, prepares and proofs all program-relevant event materials, and serves as the lead contact in managing the programs' online program portals and developing program websites. The Program Coordinator has responsibility for management of program finances to include event and program closeout duties, as well as preparation and tracking of program-based reimbursements and honoraria to ensure accurate and timely payment. The Program Coordinator will travel to events and manage on-site program tasks at the Arlington campus and other program sites. The Program Coordinator may supervise the work of a Program Assistant.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Self-starter with the ability to work independently, but also as a member of a closely aligned team;Ability to prioritize effectively, seek clarification when appropriate, and manage tasks in a timely and highly organized manner;Ability to travel independently;Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office products;Demonstrated ability to make decisions and use discretion in the absence of supervision;Excellent written, proofing, and oral communication skills; andMust be able to work some flexible hours (early mornings and evenings) and some weekends, and must be available for travel domestically and internationally.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in political science, economics, public policy, or similar discipline is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Experience managing events or programs (generally 1-2 years); andExperience working with Microsoft Office Suite products.Preferred Qualifications:Experience (generally 3+ months) using Cvent or similar event management system;Work experience in a legal or public policy environment;Experience (generally 3+ months) with the use of social media for marketing purposes; andSupervisory experience (at least one year).
