Senior Business Manager, COTC Client Strategy and Management

Summary:

Capital One Trade Credit (formerly BlueTarp Financial) is targeting 10X growth as we scale our industry-leading Business-to-Business (B2B) lending platform. Capital One Trade Credit has been growing rapidly and plans to continue signing 1-2 large enterprise partners a year.

As part of the Capital One Trade Credit (COTC) organization, you'll team up with world-class professionals to develop and bring strategies to market that drive profitable program growth. You will be part of our growing Client Strategy and Management Team and have an important leadership position owning an existing Small Business/Commercial partnership/client. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning and rewards innovation.

Experience within the credit card/finance/fintech or consulting industries is preferred. Client management and product marketing skills are also desired.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading, developing and executing the program's strategic plan, which includes creating a comprehensive program and product roadmap based on a deep understanding of the client and their business/commercial customers
  • Develop deep relationships with the partner/client and their decision makers
  • Influence the program's P&L and act on levers to maintain vertical program health
  • Lead direct and indirect teams toward the common program goals and strategies for the assigned portfolio
  • Manage and influence program performance, customer experience and products across channels and segments, leading/championing initiatives to drive optimal and profitable strategies
  • Oversee and maintain adherence to contract, risk, regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Drive and develop business cases for desired initiatives, including influencing both internally and externally
  • Collaboration with internal teams including Credit, Marketing, Finance, Ops, and Legal teams to create an effective cross functional team and execute work.
  • Set objectives and influence credit policies that span Acquisitions, Customer Management, and Fraud to the benefit of the program inclusive of Capital One and the partner
  • Develop and enable customer engagement/expansion through implementing strategies with our partners that leverages Capital One Trade Credit's advanced technology platforms. This includes driving technology and product intent with product owners and influencing the prioritization within the organization.


The desired experience and skill set for the ideal candidate include:
  • Strategic and analytical: the candidate will have a proven track record of making holistic assessments of our current state through the use of analytics and market data, defining an end state vision, and the audacity to articulate the path to get there. Conceptual thinking and analytical skills must be complemented by a strong orientation towards continuous improvement and product management.
  • Business and Credit Acumen: Demonstrated experience with credit program P&L's and functional knowledge of credit risk
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Strong judgment, leadership and integrity: the candidate should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a responsible approach to business while in a leadership position guiding execution resources.
  • Clear results orientation: focused on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment while overseeing multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment.
  • Customer Focus: the candidate will have an ability to assess client/customer needs and leverage technology capabilities to create a product/program strategy with the customer in mind.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in people management
  • 2+ years of experience in product development
  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling
  • 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting
  • 2+ years of experience in project management


Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $195,200 - $222,800 for Sr. Business Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
