Financial Reporting and Grants Analyst The George Mason University, College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), seeks qualified applicants for a Financial Reporting and Grants Analyst. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Financial Reporting and Grants Analyst develops and maintains financial reports for the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) units and evaluates the financial information that will assist in the managerial development of financial resources, both earned and contributed, for the operation and long-term financial stability of CVPA.The Financial Reporting and Grants Analyst also serves as CVPA's grants administrator and works with principal investigators, the Assistant Dean for Research, and the Office of Sponsored Programs to support the college's sponsored programs.Responsibilities:Prepare monthly financial statements from multiple data sources (MicroStrategy, MIP, Banner, ActiveNet) for various units CVPA manages, such as Center for the Arts, Hylton Performing Arts Center, Mason Community Arts Academy, VSGI, Green Machine, and various Friends organizations;Track all projects and grants going through the Office of Sponsored Programs;Ensure proper accounting of all grants, including those going through the GMU Foundation and OSP;Evaluate current financial reporting processes and develop new reporting tools that maximize efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of CVPA financial reports;Monitor the detailed accounting of all CVPA foundation accounts;Serve as secondary support for monthly reconciliation for all state orgs including verifying and possibly adding activity to related Quickbooks companies; andOther projects include those such as researching cash balances to ensure accuracy, setting up budgeting and financial systems for various CVPA units, and assisting with CVPA annual budget setup.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business or accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Experience producing financial statements in a nonprofit or governmental environment (three or more years preferred);Knowledge of nonprofit and/or governmental accounting;Skill in effective communication;Skill in the use of Excel;Ability to quickly learn new programs as they come online;Ability to develop and maintain consolidated financial statements; andAbility to demonstrate significant attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in business or accounting preferred.
