Summary

The MIL Corporation located in Lexington Park MD supporting Naval Aviation Acquisition Programs has an exciting opportunity as a Software Assurance (SwA) Analyst (Software Engineering, Associate) supporting a major ACATI development program. MIL provides a full range of cyber security services under our current contracts including cyber vulnerability research, s/w and h/w penetration testing, reverse engineering, support NAVAIR Red Team and direct support to Naval Aviation Acquisition Programs providing Systems Security Engineering expertise. This position will be based onsite (hybrid remote) in Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River MD.

Responsibilities
  • Provide the government with a level of confidence that software functions as intended and is free of vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure security is addressed holistically and systematically throughout the program System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Develop and maintain SwA processes and practices to discover and diagnose software throughout the SDLC.
  • Perform static code analysis, dynamic code analysis, spidering, software penetration testing, database vulnerability assessment, web service testing, discovery scanning, and fuzzing.
  • Conduct code scans in support of requests for the addition of software to the Supported Products List (SPL) and in support of code changes to new or existing applications.
  • Leverage the Common Weakness Scoring System (CWSS) to score software discovered vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze the relationships between components and identify flaws at the architectural level.
  • Validate controls are properly implemented as part of the corresponding Risk Management Framework (RMF) package in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Participate in meetings required to document the program requirements and produce a Software Assurance Plan (SwAP) to be included in the weapon system Program Protection Plan (PPP).

Required Qualifications
  • Programming experience in Windows, UNIX and Linux C, C++, Java and assembly language.
  • Demonstrates successful track record for delivering successful software products.
  • Demonstrates expert-level experience with the planning, coordinating, scheduling, resourcing, tracking, documenting, executing, and analyzing audits and inspections within an organization.
  • Demonstrates experience with applying compliance standards to large and complex IT environments.
  • Demonstrates expert-level understanding of vulnerabilities/weaknesses across complex IT environments and ability to understand the applicability of security standards across technologies.
  • 8570 IAT-Level I certifications.
  • Knowledge and experience with SwA tools

Desired Qualifications
  • The following certifications are not required, but are highly desired in a candidate:
    • EC-Council Certified Secure Programmer (ECSP)
    • Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
    • GIAC Secure Software Programmer-Java (GSSP-JAVA)
    • GIAC Certified Web Application Defender (GWEB)
    • GIAC Secure Software Programmer-.NET (GSSP-NET)
  • Additional certifications which are desired are:
    • EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • EC-Council Certified Encryption Specialist (ECES)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering Discipline and 7+ years of experience is required. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Clearance
