Dewberry is currently seeking a Health and Safety Intern to join either our Fairfax, VA or Orlando, FL office for Summer 2023 to assist the Safety Department with a variety of projects and initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement through all facets of Dewberry's Health and Safety Program. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to gain valuable experience and learn alongside experienced safety professionals. The Safety Intern will report directly to the Director of HSE and partner with HSE Managers.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and production of safety videos and other training material
- Conduct office and project site safety visits & evaluations in the local area
- Assist with development of safety toolbox talks and Activity Hazard Analyses ( and/or Job Hazard Analysis )
- Assist with management of data in the safety management system
- Assist with management of general safety-related tasks, such as telematics and employee PPE ( personal protective equipment ) programs
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in a safety-related field
- Ability to effectively communicate and work in a team environment
- Self-driven and proactive with accomplishing tasks
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Advanced written communication skills, and able to transform technical information into meaningful content for internal audiences
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Displays willingness to learn and develop in a team environment
- Ability to travel as needed ( negotiable )
