Citrix Operations AdministratorGeorge Mason University's Information Technology Services (ITS), located on the Fairfax, Va., campus, invites applications for a Citrix Operations Administrator within the Enterprise Collaboration and Computing Services team. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:The Computing Service Citrix Operations Administrator's primary responsibility is for the implementation, maintenance, training, and administrative duties of our Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. Tasks will include activities such as routine and emergency image maintenance, metrics reporting, customer assistance, and system troubleshooting.Required Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute;Demonstrated knowledge of Citrix technologies, such as Virtual Apps and Desktop (CVAD) and NetScaler;Knowledge of network and system administration, including experience with Windows and Linux operating systems;Knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V;Knowledge of security protocols and experience implementing security measures in a Citrix environment;Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues;Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a team and coordinate with other departments;Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail;Ability to manage and maintain a Citrix environment, including installing and configuring Citrix software, deploying and managing virtual machines, and monitoring system performance and availability;Ability to create and maintain documentation, including technical procedures and user guides;Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and addressing problems and opportunities for improvement;Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn new skills as needed to support the Citrix environment;Experience working with, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems (Desktop and Server);Experience working with a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop environment; andMust be eligible to work in secure computing environments that process and store restricted data, including information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI);Preferred Qualifications:Citrix Certifications (CCA, CCAA, CCEE);Experience working in a large enterprise-wide deployment; andExperience working with and writing automation scripts using languages such as PowerShell.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
