The COBD Team Merchant Relationship Manager will be responsible for the holistic relationship with members of the COBD Merchant Network as well as:
Maintain risk management responsibilities for the COBD Merchant Network
Partner with internal Stakeholders for COBD Merchants to understand impact on other Capital One relationships
Collaborate with the rest of the COBD Team to identify and present additional opportunities to COBD Merchants

The COBD Team Merchant Relationship Manager will be responsible for the holistic relationship with members of the COBD Merchant Network as well as:
- Serve as primary point of contact for all COBD Merchants to develop and maintain a positive COBD relationship
- Meet regularly with existing COBD Merchants to maintain healthy relationships
- Ensure COBD Merchants and Capital One meet all contractual obligations
- Manage approvals for uses of brand, logo, and marks from COBD Merchants
- Report COBD performance and share marketing plans or product roadmap
- Gather feedback from COBD Merchants and monitor their satisfaction
- Assist in the development of, and monitor, SLA's or key performance indicators
- Maintain ongoing awareness of external market and competitive position of COBD Merchants and Deals
- Share customer feedback with COBD Merchants and address any issues
- Perform any tactical requirements for on-boarding and off-boarding COBD Merchants
Maintain risk management responsibilities for the COBD Merchant Network
- Execute all controls and monitoring activities as required and store all appropriate documentation
- Proactively evaluate the need for any additional controls as COBD expands, if further operational risks are identified
Partner with internal Stakeholders for COBD Merchants to understand impact on other Capital One relationships
- Maintain appropriate relations and communications with ESM Supplier Managers where COBD Merchants are existing Capital One suppliers
- Identify mutually beneficial opportunities with COBD Merchants (e.g. S2C, Capital One Partnerships, or Spark Card Affiliates, etc)
Collaborate with the rest of the COBD Team to identify and present additional opportunities to COBD Merchants
- Develop further unique offers to COBD users (e.g. trigger alerts based on recent spend history, short-term flash deals, or additional bonus deals)
- Identify opportunities to be featured with COBD marketing campaigns
- Identify opportunities to improve or adjust existing promotions
- Identify opportunities to provide subject matter expertise within Community and Resources
Key Skills:
- Proven success in business development
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership both internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and foster relationships with senior management of merchants
- Strong negotiating skills
- Excellent business writing and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Highly proficient in Google Suite: Docs, Sheets, Pages, and MS Excel
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Military experience
- At least 1 year experience in vendor management or account management
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in vendor management or account management
- Experience in affiliate marketing
