Responsible for preparing estimates, selecting materials, maintaining work records and providing direction and expertise to subordinates. Plans and schedules work ensuring that all work is personally inspected to conform to job specifications, building codes and accepted job practices. Assists manager in providing input to the Director of Operations related to projects and the department's vision and mission.Required Qualifications:Valid Driver's License; must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review;High school diploma or equivalent;Completion of an acceptable apprentice-level training program or equivalent; andSubstantial demonstrated progressively more responsible trades-related experience, some of which must be with commercial buildings and systems (6 years preferred) at the supervisory level.Preferred Qualifications:Contractor's License;Heavy Equipment Experience;Completed significant coursework in business management and/or supervision; andSeven years of experience supervising multiple structural/architectural trades.Great Benefits:For you…Lots of leave, including annual leave, paid holidays, paid sick leave, paid winter break (please note - the break employees often receive during the holiday season is not regularly guaranteed and is subject to annual approval);Tuition exemption and professional development;Commuter Choice Transit Benefit;Virginia Retirement System Hybrid Plan; andPatriot Perks discounts to restaurants, events, and more.For you and your family…Health/dental/vision benefits; andTuition dependent benefit (restrictions apply).
