Business Analyst/Report DeveloperThe Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations is responsible for all aspects of fundraising for George Mason University which includes the successful discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all donors.The Business Analyst/Report Developer reports to the Director of Reporting and Business Intelligence and supports the outreach, engagement and fundraising activities of George Mason University Foundation and George Mason University by ensuring the security, reliability, and functionality of the Foundation's CRM, systems, and infrastructure.Advancement's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with George Mason University's alumni and constituents, while matching their philanthropic interests with the University's aspirations and priorities. Respect, service, integrity, collaboration, diversity, transparency, and creativity are the values that guide our work and culture.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.This position also offers:Potential for flexible telework and hybrid telework scheduling;Competitive salary; andOutstanding benefits including:Health and life insurance, multiple industry-leading retirement plans available, including state VRS Hybrid Retirement Plan, accrued paid days off per year, paid holidays, paid winter break, paid sick leave, professional development, tuition reimbursement at GMU, and employee assistance programs.Responsibilities:Interpret user business requirements for custom reporting;Build, test and document reports using MicroStrategy;Support and train users in ad hoc report development;MicroStrategy reporting administration; andPerform server administration functions as needed.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent experience or training;Demonstrated technical experience with reporting and/or CRM systems or applicable education;Knowledge of SQL;Ability to learn Microstrategy reporting, Salesforce CRM, and related applications;Strong data management abilities;Ability to drive projects to completion;Ability to understand and articulate complex requirements;Ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests;Creative and analytical thinker with developed problem-solving skills;Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing at all levels of the organization;Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs and accurately interpret specifications for developing technical solutions;General knowledge of desktop computer applications, operating systems and hardware;Demonstrated technical abilities; andDemonstrated organizational and documentations skills.Preferred Qualifications:MicroStrategy experience;Salesforce experience; andHigher education fundraising experience.
