Job Description
The Marketing Solutions Manager is responsible for driving revenue for the Regional Washington Post sales organization across all Washington Post platforms. Responsibilities
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team (Sales, Client Services, Design, Product) to create custom advertising proposals that feature compelling ideas, succinct positioning and comprehensive advertising programs for new and existing clients
- Be a storyteller. Bring advertising solutions to life with an outcome oriented approach and the ability to weave those solutions in to a strong, easily digested narrative
- Lead development of and "own" all market facing positioning, proposals and promotional initiatives for categories covered
- Become an expert on The Washington Post's value proposition, products, audience and journalism pedigree in order to effectively demonstrate to the marketplace The Washington Post's unique value proposition
- Be/become an expert in the industry categories covered in order to deliver insightful solutions specific to said categories
- Develop strong category vertical presentations for each category covered (i.e. Travel, Real Estate, Entertainment, Healthcare, etc.)
- Provide support to sales team by helping the teams prepare for sales calls, building client relations, keeping abreast of agency and client accounts, notifying team of product changes and implementing marketing strategies
Requirements
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are mandatory
- Proficient in concept/idea generation
- Proficient in PowerPoint, and Photoshop. Working knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
- A proactive, customer service, solution-oriented attitude
- B.A. in Communication/Marketing/Business preferred
- At least 6 years work experience, 2-3 years of experience in digital space preferred
- Advertising Agency and/or understanding of the advertising sales process experience a plus
