Environmental Scientist/ Field Work Specialist: 1-5 years experience, or 5-10 years experience

We are growing and looking for new team members. Remote working is our typical workday, so you will not be expected to commute to the office every day. This position features field work analysis so an interest in ecosystems, natural resource conservation, and the outdoors is essential as well as an ability to do field work. Competitive salaries offered. As a team member you will work on land development plans for commercial and residential clients. You will experience a range of environmental design including wetlands, natural resources inventories, permitting, reports, and plan development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct wetland delineations and assessments Map and assess existing specimen trees and tree stands/ Prepare Natural Resource Inventory Plans and Forest Conservation Plans Prepare Requests for Jurisdictional Determinations Monitor and write reports for wetland mitigation and stream restoration projects Conduct Endangered Species Act (ESA) reviews in accordance with FEMA's CLOMR submission requirements Prepare permit applications for projects affecting wetlands and waterbodies, and compliance for a wide variety of projects and clients

Credentials/Skills

  • Field experience in delineating wetlands according to US Army Corps of Engineers Manual and the appropriate Regional Supplements and tree identification Proficient with AutoCad and Microsoft Office Experience with GPS data collection (Trimble-Geo/ Pathfinder) technology a plus Skill in technical writing as well as environmental research and analysis Interest in ecosystems, natural resource conservation, and the outdoors is essential Ability to complete field work with consideration to their own and the team's safety

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Landscape Architect, Civil Engineering, or related field. Co-op / Internship experience preferred.
