Job Summary
The Washington Post is seeking an Ad Operations & QA Specialist to join its Digital Advertising Operations team. This team consists of subject matter experts in the processes and systems required for ad delivery, as well as the successful delivery of those ads for revenue recognition. As a Digital Ad Operations & QA Specialist, you will be responsible for ad trafficking, ad delivery, and the building and QA of ad products in proprietary and third-party systems. The ideal candidate for the Ad Operations & QA Specialist role will have a strong understanding of the complexities of digital ad trafficking, understands the sense of urgency and attention to detail inherent in delivering successful media campaigns, and enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment. This role reports to the Manager, Digital Advertising Operations.
This position will support our west coast operations and will require core working hours aligned to the pacific time zone.

$58,600.00 - $97,600.00
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.

- You collaborate with multiple teams throughout the design, development and launch of advertising products and solutions for use on multiple platforms and operating systems
- You will gain in-depth knowledge of ad server capabilities to troubleshoot delivery issues and provide effective solutions to resolve such issues
- You are energized by problem-solving and love to ideate solutions for difficult problems
Responsibilities
- Understand Google Ad Managers (GAM) architecture for ad trafficking, troubleshooting, and reporting; as well as administrative tasks like ad unit/placement creation and key-value creation.
- Build custom creatives for deployment across all digital platforms onsite and offsite - desktop, mobile, video, email, podcasts. Act as a subject matter expert across our digital ad products, tools, and workflows to support the day-to-day campaign needs of the sales organization.
- Troubleshoot campaign related issues by engaging in multi-device QA and browser debugging. Analyze the impact of those issues and identify paths to resolution; Recommend scalable solutions to prevent future occurrences. Maintain documentation of bugs, workarounds, and enhancements.
- Execute testing and QA tasks for the advertising product and engineering teams to provide operational support for product innovations, publisher initiatives and revenue growth.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of digital advertising experience preferably on an ad operations or trafficking team.
- Expert knowledge of Google Ad Manager.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Service-oriented, results-driven and exhibit a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines driven tasks and comfortable with shifting priorities.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira, Basecamp or like systems
- 5+ years of digital experience.
- BA/BS required.
