Duties

  • You will work in all phases of the software development life cycle, including functional analysis, development of technical requirements, prototyping, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
  • You will develop high quality, reusable and maintainable code using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, Javascript, and SOQL on the Salesforce Platform using Object-Oriented concepts.
  • You will play a key role designing the underlying Salesforce architecture including configuration, testing, and deployment of Salesforce functionality.
  • You will implement Salesforce configuration changes, including: Flow, Process Builder, objects, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and validations.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 62 within 12 months of appointment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

For the GS-12 position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning and executing complex IT-related assignments using conventional approaches and techniques; 2) Developing, testing, documenting and maintaining solutions, integrations, and data migration using Salesforce resources such as triggers, workflows, validations, approvals, APEX Classes, Visualforce pages, and Lightning Web Components; 3) Translating functional and technical requirements into database designs and application prototypes; 4) Validating and testing application software development quality, logic and functionality by following coding standards and participating in coding reviews; 5) Ensuring compliance with software development, information security/information assurance standards, policies, principles and practices; AND you must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies: 1. ATTENTION TO DETAIL - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensures the software complies with regulatory requirements; CUSTOMER SERVICE - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Works with customer/end users to support and develop software applications; ORAL COMMUNICATION -Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presents trainings on new software applications; PROBLEM SOLVING - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Resolves software applications issues.

Education

For the GS-11 grade level: Applicants may qualify with the following education in lieu of the specialized experience qualification:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

A forty-hour work week is typical of this position.

This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary. No special demands are required to perform the work. Vision must be adequate to permit prolonged work with LCD monitors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in a typical office setting with the incumbent observing normal safety precautions. Travel may be required within or outside the local region.
