Duties
Major Duties Include (but are not limited to): Assists with tracking and monitoring training requirements; Researches and verifies accurate information is contained in records including electronic databases; Assists in research and development of curriculum-based support materials and activities; Prepares and delivers presentations to different audiences; Assists with scheduling interviews and meetings; Maintains training library accountability and inventory; Drafts and broadcasts training opportunities announcements; Documents training results and record training sessions; Follows up on status of customer service satisfaction surveys via email, telephone, or in person; Responds to inquiries pertaining to employee training records, history, and account access; Troubleshoots database system log-in and other access related issues; Identifies and coordinates necessary training equipment, supplies, and materials; Provides support for special training projects; Schedule training opportunities, classrooms, and other resources; Ensures training rooms are adequate size to meet the number of anticipated participants; Assists with classroom/facilities setup and cleanup; Assists with records management and file maintenance; Arrange training records for storage, disposition, and retrieval according to the agency established records retention and disposition plan; Monitors supply inventory and prepares purchase/work orders; Identifies employee training deficiencies through file research, subject matter experts, and correspondence; and Reviews, routes, and maintains accurate and complete records pertaining to training requests, tuition reimbursement, and purchase request authorizations.
Promotion Potential: This GS-5 position is being announced at the full performance level.
Work Schedule: M-F, 8 hour shift between 7AM-7PM (TBD by Supervisor)
Remote: This position is being offered as a remote position. If you select remote, then you must reside within 50 miles of a VA Medical center or a Member Services location in the continental US.
Telework: This position is also telework eligible. Telework options will be discussed during the hiring process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/09/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: There are no time-in-grade requirements for this GS-5 position.
You may qualify based on your Specialized Experience, Education Substitution, or a Combination of Specialized Experience and Education as described below:
Specialized Experience (GS-5): You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-4) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of Specialized Experience Include (but are not limited to):
1) Proficiently utilizes various software packages (i.e. Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc...)
2) Prepares, composes, and reviews correspondence for obtaining or supplying information
3) Responds to requests for information from internal and external customers in person, through email, instant message, or telephone
4) Communicates with customers from diverse social and economic backgrounds in a professional and courteous manner
5) Responds to Help Desk inquiries
6) Proficiently operates office equipment such as printers
7) Performs a wide range of clerical or assistant level work in support of the training administration
OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years of education above high school (Transcripts Required)
OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine Specialized Experience and Education to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of Specialized Experience and Education beyond 2 years above High School (Transcripts Required).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: No special physical demands such as above average ability, dexterity, or strength are required to perform the work. Work is sedentary, and the employee may sit comfortably. There may be some walking. standing, bending, and carrying of light items.
