Duties

As a Production Planning & Control Specialist, you will:
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the logistical actions required to support circulating coinage and/or numismatic products production.
  • Maintain critical production information which includes: finished products and coin inventories, current and historical production figures, work in process, and production reports necessary to the daily management of numismatic coin production.
  • Develop raw material and component requirements, monitor inventories, and interface with the Supply Management group to coordinate requirements and schedule deliveries.
  • Provide logistical and planning support for Mint wide initiatives to improve the Mint's ability to respond to customer requirements, initiate just in time inventory strategies with its raw materials and work in process, more effectively produce numismatic products, reduce waste and error coins, and streamline the entire coin production and distribution process.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
    Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
    -Developing production schedules as well as internal sales orders within an organization; AND
    -Experience in the use of Material and Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning system, as well as managing the production and inventory of finished goods; AND
    -Experience planning production in accordance with business and strategic objectives, set priorities, determine resource requirements, determine short- and long-term goals, and strategies to achieve them; AND
    -Experience interpreting written material, including technical material such as, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables.


    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
