To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience includes: Experience managing Data Science Laboratory tools such as Jupyter Lab, R Studio, Kinetica, and/or Sagemaker in support of an Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) community, and experience using IT Project principles, methods, tools, and agile methodologies for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing IT projects and resources.
Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.

We are looking for an energetic, experienced, IT Project Manager to join the FAA's CDO team! The incumbent will serve as the Product Owner of our Data Science Laboratory to track and manage critical elements of the programs including scope, budget, risk, and schedule.
Duties will include:
- Define roadmaps and manage Product Lifecycle of current Data Science Laboratory (Jupyter Lab, R Studio, Kinetica, Sagemaker).
- Define framework to manage responsible AI across the FAA and for sharing AI.
- Drive and improve enablement adoption for the Data Science Laboratory across the FAA
- Plan and execute communication, training, and information sharing regarding the availability, use, access and how to use the Data Science Laboratory components.
- Define and track Key Performance Indicators that quantifiably shows the improved adoption of Data Science tools.
- Track qualitative KPI's that indicate mission value provided/impacted
- Work with the Data Science and analytics team to support their enablement of Data Scientists across the FAA.
- Lead sessions and active participation in the Analytics Center for Enablement and provide How-To/FAQ.
- Optimize and scale performance of Data Science Lab to meet demand
- Apply agile methodologies for project management including the use of Jira for work planning and issue tracking.
- As Product Owner, define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment; define resources and schedule for project/program implementation, ensures systems testing strategies, plans, or scenarios are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate complex IT projects/programs, including application development efforts, systems upgrades and installations, technology outsourcing, IT security initiatives, Software as a Service (SaaS) deployments, cloud service deployments, etc.
- Ensure activities are completed in accordance with the project scope and within the approved schedule and budget constraints.
- Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning as well as plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones for requested IT Systems.
- Ensure appropriate standard project practices and procedures are established and followed.
- Coordinate with technology system analysts on IT-specific issues that may impact a project's success.
- Works with CORs to ensure that the activities of service providers support the PMLC.
- Ensures appropriate product-related training and documentation requirements for IT systems are developed and available to customers.
- Develop reports and presentations on the status of projects assigned.
- Analyze data from reports to recommend areas of improvement.
- Effectively communicate project information based upon the audience.
