The Washington Post Opinions section is seeking an audience editor for newsletters who will lead our efforts to reach new audiences and build reader habits through email products. The editor will be part of the audience strategy team and reports to the director of operations and strategy for Opinions.

The Washington Post Opinions section is seeking an audience editor for newsletters who will lead our efforts to reach new audiences and build reader habits through email products. The editor will be part of the audience strategy team and reports to the director of operations and strategy for Opinions.

Responsibilities
- Grow Opinions' newsletter audience by leading strategy for curation of daily and weekly newsletter products.
- Keep Opinions' products cutting-edge by keeping up to date on industry trends around email products to determine what we should try - or not try.
- Grow Opinions' newsletter portfolio by working with columnists and editors to determine the viability of proposed products and plan their rollout.
- Consistently deliver high-quality newsletters to readers by producing daily and weekly products as needed, and ensuring other audience editors, assignment editors and multiplatform editors who produce newsletters are up to date on best practices and curation guidelines.
- Ensure Opinions has a voice in feature improvements by attending stakeholder working groups and roadmaps reviews for our in-house newsletter tool.
- Position new products for success by working with marketing and advertising teams on ways to promote and monetize them.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with a news organization, especially working on newsletters or in an audience engagement role
- Experience working with email service providers
- Experience using analytics to measure success and inform decisions
- Excellent communication skills and a diplomatic spirit that allows you to work across teams
- A track record of innovation and growth regarding coverage or products you've managed
