An excellent opportunity for those with administrative and people skills to join the Residential Treatment & Detox Services Team! Working in a residential treatment setting, this position provides clinical staff and program residents support to include intake paperwork, scanning, some front office duties of answering phones and assisting the public. In addition, this position works directly with residents in program orientation, and assist with accessing community resources. Works closely with clinical staff and proving therapeutic milieu and transporting clients to appointments.
The population of Fairfax County is very diverse where 39.8% of residents speak a language other than English at home (Spanish, Asian/Pacific Islander, Indo-European, and others) and we encourage candidates bilingual in English and a foreign language to apply to this opportunity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, a driving record check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.
This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies). Additional Work Schedule Requirements: some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to the weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to independently drive county vehicle. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and write as needed to complete duties of the job. Must be able to observe client behavior/appearance and be able to converse with clients and co-workers. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Illustrative Duties
- Responds to requests for information and referral from clients, families, and the general public;
- Elicits necessary information from prospective clients and determines eligibility for services;
- Obtains and updates human service resources information;
- Types and proofreads routine client-related correspondence;
- Serves as liaison between clients, families, staff, and physicians;
- Schedules clients' doctor appointments and has prescriptions refilled as needed;
- Maintains clients' medical records and office financial records;
- Collects and compiles data for monthly reports;
- Drives County van or minibus to transport clients to the program, on appointments, and to recreational activities;
- Assists senior staff with supervision of clients on outings;
- Participates with program clinical staff in scheduled activities for clients;
- Maintains financial records of cash accounts;
- Assists in inventorying and purchasing of food and other related items;
- Orders kitchen, office, medical first aid and maintenance supplies;
- Inventories site supplies and equipment;
- Inputs and retrieves client data in the Community Services Board management information system (SYNAPS);
- Trains clinical and administrative staff on SYNAPS system;
- Verifies requests for goods and services against County contracts and funding sources;
- Assists in reviewing and compiling data on client populations and facility trends;
- Monitors and assists in enforcement of facility rules and policies.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the basic principles of human behavior;
- Knowledge of modern office practices, policies, and procedures;
- Ability to process and integrate complex data and information;
- Ability to perform data entry into the SYNAPS system;
- Ability to keep confidential client, clinical, and medical records;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, staff, and the general public.

- Valid motor vehicle driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) maintained throughout employment with CSB.
- First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of appointment and maintained throughout CSB employment, for positions in residential programs.
