Primary Purpose

Manages all global operations associated with organizational privacy. maintains responsibility for the management of all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization's policies and procedures covering the privacy of—and access to—Patient health information or personal information. understand global data privacy laws throughout the world and their applicability to a contract research organization supporting clinical trials.

Responsibilities

· Conducts risk management and assessment operations to generate report data for senior management

· Responsible for supporting and implementing all aspects of the global data privacy and protection program compliance strategy and advising on matters surrounding data protection

· Works closely with Contracts & Legal Department on issues related to contractual documentation, e.g., data protection agreements, standard contractual clauses, etc.

· Maintains documentation such as data flow diagrams, data protection impact assessments, and record of processing activities

· Maintains confidential privacy documents across the entire organization

· Participates with legal and senior management to form recommendations on policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization's privacy function

· Ensures compliance with US federal and state laws, ex-US data privacy laws, including but not limited to, EU GDPR, CPPA, CPRA, India data privacy laws, etc., and the company's information privacy practices

· Assists in the establishment of services in a leadership role for an organization-wide Privacy Governance & Risk Committee (GRC)

Experience

· Experience with a Contract Research Organization (CRO), a plus

· Experience with federal government contracts, a plus

· Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years' experience

· May lead and direct the work of other employees

· Responsible for aligning departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization

· Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization

· Customer/client orientation

· Detail oriented

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
