For more information about the center, please visit http://csiss.gmu.edu/Responsibilities:The successful candidate will conduct funding research on web-based geospatial decision-making systems. The incumbent will implement standard-based interoperable geospatial decision-making systems on mobile, cluster, and cloud platforms. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to write system documents and provide on-line user support.Required Qualifications:M.S. degree in geographic information science, computer science, or related fields;2-year project experience in developing standard-compliant geospatial information systems; andProject experience in OGC interoperability standards, particularly WMS, WCS, and OpenSearch, and the CropScape system.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. degree in geographic information science, computer science, or related fields;Experience in programming with multiple languages (e.g., Java, Python, C/C++) for geospatial applications;Experience in fullstack Web development;Experience in geospatial Web service development and RESTful service implementation;Experience in Web application development using JavaSript and its popular frameworks, such as React;Experience in mobile App development with frameworks such as React Native;Understand and apply modern Web application development concepts, such as OpenAPI, Progressive Web API, Responsive Web application; andExperience in software development with Open Source Geospatial software and libraries, e.g. GDAL and OSGeo packages.
