Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a System Administration, Analyst to support a Federal government client at one of our Washington, DC Metropolitan area locations.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support database products Oracle 12c, 19c and newer, SQL 2016, 2019 and newer, MySQL 5, 8 and newer as well as AWS RDS including maintain the databases, health monitoring, database changes, installation, deployment/rollback, configuration and patching, upgrade/migration, performance tuning, and data and database migrations.
  • Secure databases and remediate vulnerability per IT Security Directive and Hardening Guide.
  • Implement and administer service requests on the database management and database account/access management.
  • Provide well-written and verbal communication for both managers and technical audiences.
  • Create and update formal documentation/reports.
  • Perform cross training and/or knowledge sharing sessions with other DBM staff/contractors.
  • Database work will be assigned by DBA Section Manager and DBA Team Leads through the Service Now ticketing system. Service Now tickets need to be updated and tracked to reflect accurate status. All assignments should be documented in the periodic status report. ServiceNow tickets will be created to track work when it is assigned and may be assigned service requests with specific timeframes and due dates. Service Now tickets will be assigned to contractor staff by DBA Section Manager or DBA Team Lead. Incident requests should comply with the SLAs mentioned in Section C.6 as applicable. This will include any future supported version of relational database management system (RDMS).

Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS or a combination of courses and related work experience and at least 3 years of related work experience.
  • 2 years experience maintaining enterprise level databases
  • Excellent customer service / interpersonal skills
  • Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination.

Desired Qualifications
  • 5 years database experience
  • Oracle or SQL Database Certification
