Overview

ERP is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Manager for role on one of our software development / modernization projects with the U.S. Air Force. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on software development experience with Java and Opensource toolsets, infrastructure as a service, and CI/CD. This person will lead a team in modernizing a key military system using agile best practices. The effort will be focused on modernizing and implementing key user applications and related components following well-known React.js workflows. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, quality and leading technical teams. This project represents a multi-year effort for IT Modernization and Transformation requiring tested, secure, and hardened software solutions.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and monitor software development tasks to include backlog, velocity, code coverage, and defects using Jira and Confluence
  • Organize the team activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints
  • Assign and monitor work of agile teams, business analysts, testers and UI/UX developers
  • Ensure consistent and repeatable change management approaches and manage training and adoption
  • Collaborate with the team and develop a trusting relationship with stakeholders
  • Develop system and security controls and other documentation
  • Lead the effort to deliver working software modules, and support Quality Assurance to ensure correct functionality and cross-browser, cross-platform, cross-device compatibility
  • Write, update, and maintain appropriate project deliverables and documentation
  • Use Jira, Confluence, and Git/Bitbucket to support development tasks


Qualifications

Required Education and Certification
  • BS in Computer Science or related field

Required Experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in software development projects as a development lead or other hands on roles
  • Prior Federal Government experience needed.
  • Prior experience as a Technical Lead / Project / Program Manager
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and a relational database
  • Experience working with development in Cloud, DevOps & Agile environments
  • Experience working with large remote, matrixed, cross-functional organizations, including operations, development, cloud infrastructure, and release teams

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools for code, database, infrastructure and configuration changes
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for technical documentation
  • Ability to translate technical requirements to non-technical customers and leadership
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred
  • PMP Certification

Clearance Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen within the U.S. with ability to obtain public trust
