Specialized Experience Requirements :

To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-14) of the position to be filled.
To qualify for the GS-15 grade level, 1 year of creditable specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 is required. Examples of work experience include, but are not limited to: providing leadership in technical and procedural guidance for law enforcement program at an agency or bureau level (or equivalent); providing management and supervision of criminal investigators work; overseeing or leading investigative operations; conducting and/or participating in law enforcement investigations/operations that involve federal, state, and/or county partnerships.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-15 grade level.
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

1) Prior experience as a Law Enforcement Officer carrying out duties involving the investigation, apprehension, and/or detention of persons suspected or convicted of offenses against the criminal laws of the United States. This experience must be documented in the online application or resume with specific to AND from dates (MM/YY), description of work performed, AND hours worked per week.
2) You must have successfully completed a Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, or its equivalent. Proof of completion/certificate or Transcript must be submitted as part of the application process.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted, must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hz levels. Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard too himself/herself, or others is disqualifying.
Firearm Requirement: This position authorizes you to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition [Title 18, U.5.C., Section 922(g)(9)]. A "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" is generally defined under the statute as any offense involving the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of a deadly weapon, committed by the victim's current or former domestic partner, parent, or guardian. The term "convicted", as defined in the statute, excludes any person whose conviction has been expunged, set aside, or pardoned or any person whose civil rights have been restored unless the pardon, expungement or restoration of civil rights expressly prohibits the possession of firearms or ammunition. - Provides executive level guidance in the effort to protect public lands and resources, and critical assets located on public lands.
- Manages and conducts investigations and takes law enforcement action of the most complex and intricate magnitude involving matters of the most sensitive nature.
- Provides operational oversight to the BLMs law enforcement program.
- Executes the full range of supervisory responsibilities over the Special Agents in Charge within the five OLES Regions and those under Interagency Agreement.
