In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising supervisors and/or senior staff on Human Resources (HR) matters; performing studies and/or audits to identify HR problems; developing authoritative HR policy interpretations; proposing resolution to HR issues; and supervising employees and/or leading teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Additional information
- Maintain program management coordination for Head Quarters (HQ) personnel along with the Human Resources (HR) service provider to accomplish customer service delivery.
- Conduct reviews and investigations of Inspector General complaints, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and congressional inquiries.
- Assist the supervisor in identifying, establishing, documenting, and re-evaluating risk, and for correcting material weaknesses in internal control systems.
- Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
- Develop performance standards and evaluates work performance of subordinates.
- Perform consultative and evaluative work to include providing program management, advisory service, and program evaluation support.
- Manage Return Rights Program for overseas employees.
