As a Senior Associate, Quantitative Analyst within the Model Risk Office, you will be part of the model validation team, and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and robustness of the firm's market risk and counterparty risk models. Validations cover all aspects of model development and performance and include forward-looking advancements in model sophistication and quality. You will enhance your technical and analytical skills, while also working closely with business leaders to influence business strategy. Responsibilities and Skills:
- Partner with the various lines of business to enhance modeling and analytical framework.
- Work across Capital One entities to create novel analytical solutions to the challenging business problems.
- Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods and automation solutions to improve business performance and process efficiencies.
- Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team to build cloud-based solutions grounded in data.
- Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods or machine learning to improve business performance.

- Understanding business processes associated with model use, and the nature of model use within these processes;

- Assessing the methodologies and processes used by modeling teams to develop and manage their models, and identifying potential weaknesses and the associated materiality of the risk;

- Document validation processes and results; develop benchmarking models;

- Analyze complex data to identify data integrity issues;

- Research industry practices related to derivative modeling methodologies.

Successful candidates would possess:

- Strong understanding of quantitative analysis methods in relation to financial institutions.

- Solid understanding of derivative pricing, e.g., valuation of fixed income, commodity, or FX derivatives. Understanding of financial asset valuation principles for vanilla and exotic derivatives.
- Ability to clearly communicate modeling results to a wide range of audiences.
- Drive to develop and maintain high quality and transparent model documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong presentation skills.

Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree plus at least 5 years of experience in data analytics, or Master's Degree
- At least 1 year of experience in data analytics, financial modeling or econometric modeling (can include Graduate School Research work).
- At least 1 year of programming experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, Physics or related discipline.

- 1 year of experience with financial derivatives, such as, swaps, options, etc.
- 1 year of experience with Python, R or other statistical software
- 2 years of experience with data analysis

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $128,783 - $151,935 for Sr Assoc,Quantitative Analysis

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
