Duties

  • Maintaining and developing EFMP computer simulation and support to the Total Army Analysis process.
  • Develops complex computer simulations of military family readiness
  • Perform a broad range of analyses solving unique problems with creativity and innovative use of techniques on EFMP / Soldier and Family Readiness to Army Senior Leaders, using advanced approaches, and new technologies
  • Conduct studies using existing internal and external models.
  • Adapt existing models or develops new models to solve stakeholder and sponsor needs.
  • Validate and verifies models in accordance with departmental directives and best practices.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst:

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Assisting in maintaining and/or developing complex computer simulations; Assisting in developing standards for analyzing, testing, or assessing emerging technology and/or methods; and
Analyzing unique problems solve while utilizing advance approaches and/or new technologies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
