Overview
Northwest Federal Credit Union is seeking qualified interns for our paid Summer Internship Program at our Corporate Office in Herndon, VA. Our summer internship program is designed to provide college students the opportunity to learn about Northwest Federal and gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment that aligns with their career goals. This is an 8-week internship program starting on June 5, 2023.
The IT Innovations Intern will work with Software Quality Assurance and Business Application Analysts testing new products and services on Northwest's Information Technology systems. These environments include digital and telephone banking, core banking software, and voice recognition software. The student will assist in business analysis work, which includes but is not limited to business requirements, systems process flows, test plans for implementing new product features/upgrades to current applications, and resolution of reported support issues. This role will have direct contact with several lines of business in the credit union.

Responsibilities
- Creation and maintenance of test plans
- Execution of test plans relating to digital, telephone, and core banking software and related products and services
- Review of testing results with project sponsors and IT management; reporting of results to management and product team
- Attend and participate in project team meetings and related stand-ups
- Work with business units to refine business requirements
- Document system processes and data flows relating to these requests
- Analysis of new functionality and communication of the functions including settings and parameters to the impacted line of business
- Review, testing, and analysis to correct reported internal support tickets
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications
Required
- Must be enrolled in a credited university at the junior or senior level in pursuit of a degree in Information Technology or related field
- Average 3.0 GPA (transcripts required)
- Must be available for our 8-week session from June 5th through August 4th - 40 hours a week
- Coursework related to business analysis and/or software testing
Preferred
- Experience with online banking applications
