Overview
Northwest Federal Credit Union is seeking qualified interns for our paid Summer Internship Program at our Corporate Office in Herndon, VA. Our summer internship program is designed to provide college students the opportunity to learn about Northwest Federal and gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment that aligns with their career goals. This is an 8-week internship program starting on June 5, 2023.
The NWFCU Project Delivery Office Summer Intern position provide the student with experience working in a project management office (PMO) and learning the roles and responsibilities required to deliver projects and change management initiatives within an organization.
The student will perform hands-on project management tasks and work closely with the team of NWFCU Project Managers and the VP of Change Management & Enablement to deliver the portfolio of credit union projects. They will also learn how the credit union and other banking institutions function and play an important role in our economy.

Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in overseeing schedules and milestone management
- Learn how to compile weekly project status reports
- Learn and use project management software
- Prepare and assist in project documentation
- Assist project managers to organize and schedule team meetings
- Work with project managers to identify project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, and deadlines
- Assist project managers with project deliverables
- Work with project managers to monitor and control projects
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications
Required
- Must be enrolled in a credited university at the junior or senior level in pursuit of a degree in Project Management, Business Administration or related field
- Average 3.0 GPA (transcripts required)
- Must be available for our 8-week session from June 5th through August 4th - 40 hours a week
- Knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
