Overview

Northwest Federal Credit Union is seeking qualified interns for our paid Summer Internship Program at our Corporate Office in Herndon, VA. Our summer internship program is designed to provide college students the opportunity to learn about Northwest Federal and gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment that aligns with their career goals. This is an 8-week internship program starting on June 5, 2023.

The primary function of the Retail Sales & Service Intern will be to assist the Retail Sales & Service team with projects, events, and duties relevant to specific departmental needs. General office related duties may include but are not limited to research, data entry, and coordination of events as determined and directed by the VP of Retail Sales & Service.

Responsibilities

  • Will perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and event support to Retail Sales and Service Team
  • Assist in the coordination and on-site support of events
  • Assist with organizing and assembling marketing materials and supplies
  • Assist with mailings to SEGs
  • Use database to research POCs at various SEGS; database maintenance (Excel)
  • Assist with reconciliation of charter to current SEG list and remove SEGS which no longer exist
  • Data entry to include reports
  • Copy, print, and distribute flyers
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Inventory of supplies and materials
  • Join and support the Retail Sales and Service team with event planning and setup
  • Attend networking and Credit Union events when needed
  • Provide marketing support to relationship managers, prepare giveaways, send out thank you emails, and drop off any marketing flyer's to existing SEGs or community partners
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a credited university at the junior or senior level in pursuit of a degree in related field
  • Average 3.0 GPA (transcripts required)
  • Must be available for our 8-week session from June 5th through August 4th - 40 hours a week
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated skill of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
