Process Manager (Associate), Commercial Bank Litigation and Restructuring

A great opportunity exists for an experienced professional to join the legal team for Capital One's Litigation Team as a Process Manager on the Commercial Bank Litigation and Restructuring team. The Litigation team is a dynamic group of legal professionals who provide a variety of litigation support for Capital One businesses.

More specifically, the Commercial Bank Litigation and Restructuring team provides a combination of litigation and restructuring support and advice to different Capital One commercial lines of business including, but not limited to, Commercial and Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, Energy, Healthcare, Technology, Media and Telecom and Small Business Bank across a variety of different products including commercial lending, corporate card, capital markets, treasury management and depository services.

This new team member will serve in a critical function for the team and be responsible for executing, creating and maintaining critical processes related to the management of distressed commercial loans.

The Process Manager in this role will be responsible for the following:
  • Providing extensive day to day support, including process execution, legal file management, and other duties as assigned;
  • Champions project management discipline to support timely delivery of new projects or with respect to significant Legal workstreams;
  • Champions process improvement projects;
  • Performs legal and industry research under the direction of legal colleagues;
  • Maintain files and other records associated with management of legal processes; and
  • Other tasks as needed by the legal department or business.


Specific candidate competencies include, but are not limited to:
  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills;
  • The ability to prioritize and manage a significant volume of work on a broad array of topics with multiple and simultaneous deadlines is critical;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks; and
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms and applications;
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player to create and manage processes, to solve problems, and to build collegial and effective relationships with business leaders, attorneys, paralegals, project managers and administrative assistants at all levels of the company.


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification; and
  • At least 2 years of experience in Project Management, Business Process Management, Risk Management, Audit, or paralegal experience with an in-house department or law firm.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience;
  • Experience with commercial lending transactions;
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Management, Business Process Management, Risk Management, Audit, or paralegal experience with an in-house department or law firm;
  • Experience with an in‐house legal department or law firm; and
  • Proficient in Google Workspace.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $73,826 - $87,098 for Process Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
