Program Assistant - Arts Management (Part-Time)George Mason University's Arts Management program, within the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), seeks qualified candidates for a 20 hour/week virtual part-time Program Assistant to provide administrative support for the organizational and academic activities of the program.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Support the Assistant and Program Director in maintaining student and personnel files and responding to inquiries and issues as needed;Maintain departmental calendar, assist in developing meeting agendas and oversee meeting minutes and follow up action items;Organize and coordinate adjunct faculty contract creation and submission;Serve as technology support assistant for max of two online classes a semester;Coordinate with CVPA Academic Affairs to facilitate and process student scholarships and review degree progress for Arts Management majors approaching graduation, and determine outstanding requirements;Coordinate with CVPA Finance Office to process payments for departmental purchases, honorariums and reconciling departmental budgets;Coordinate and process semester course creation, schedules, syllabi and book orders for department classes;Assist with coordinating programming of events for faculty, students and alumni; both online and/or in-person; andCoordinate with Assistant Director and Marketing & Recruitment Coordinator in responding to prospective student and parent inquiries via telephone and email.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience;Experience with computer technology; virtual learning and meeting applications;Experience in budget management;Excellent written and verbal communications skills;Flexibility to work in the evenings each week to support graduate online courses as needed between 4:30-7:10pm or 7:20-10:00pm;Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced, diverse environment;Ability to multitask, problem-solve, be detailed-oriented, and manage competing priorities; andExcellent customer service skills are essential.Preferred Qualifications:Strong interest in arts management or the performing and visuals arts industries;Understanding of university processes; andExperience with working in a higher education environment with diverse student populations.
