Principal Ops Associate - Team Lead

We are seeking a talented and transformational team leader to lead the Treasury Management (TM) Activations function. In this role, the ideal candidate would have direct accountability for setup/activation of 30+ Treasury Management products for clients across Commercial Banking and Business Banking segments. This critical function engages at the beginning of a client's relationship with Capital One, but also engages throughout the lifecycle as clients constantly modify/evolve their uses of products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: This role will have direct accountability for 5-8 Associates across geographies. The leader is charged with creating a culture that is a safe space to learn and challenge norms while setting a constantly rising bar for top performance
  
• Client Experience: Although this role is not client-facing, methodically balancing people / process / risk decisions with impact to client experience will be a critical success factor. The ideal candidate consistently utilizes customer-back design thinking in decision making and regularly evaluates/strengthens how we measure the customer experience.
  
• Ensure service levels are met with respect to timeliness, accuracy, quality, and customer service.
  
• Data/Insights: Demonstrated experience/expertise with leveraging data and routines to proactively identify risks and process breakdowns within TM Activations
  
• Process/Risk: Demonstrated experience with championing initiatives that improve business processes and reduce risks. Drives a culture where Associates have hands-on involvement in challenging existing processes to ensure they are up-to-date with current state risks. Escalates/owns process issues and risk remediations.
  
• Stakeholder Management: Cultivates/maintains strong relationships/partnerships with key business partners in Onboarding and Servicing functions, SBB and Retail.
  
• Monitor, Review, and Analyze periodic reporting for workflow coordination, controls administration, training opportunity, and exception management.
  

Work at Home Technology Requirements:

• A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
  
• A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by using cellular data (hot spot)
  
  • Cable or fiber connections are preferred
    
  • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here .   • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required
    
• Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider
  
  • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network
    
• Capital One reserves the right to request proof of internet provider, speed and service package from the associate
  
• Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered. Capital One reserves the right to modify internet service requirements with sixty (60) days notice.
  

Candidates must live within 100 miles driving distance from one of the hub locations based in Melville, NY, McLean, VA, Richmond, VA or Plano, TX.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent certification

• At least 3 years experience in o perations

• At least 2 year of banking experience

• At least 2 years experience managing teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience
  
• Process Management Certifications (BPM, Six Sigma, LEAN)
  
• Risk Management experience or certifications
  
• Experience in process engineering, product management and design thinking
  
• At least 3 years experience in Banking (Commercial Small Business or Retail)
  
• At least 3 years experience in Treasury Management
