Computer Science Office ManagerThe George Mason University Department of Computer Science, within the College of Engineering and Computing, seeks a proactive, organized, and self-reliant Office Manager. Represent the department in a professional manner;Act as source person regarding the university and department's rules and regulations, policies and procedures;Supervision of the CS Departmental office staff ensuring that employees understand their duties and tasks and organizes workflow; Coordination of departmental events; andProvide purchasing assistance to CS faculty and department leadership and performs fixed asset inventory and serves as telecom coordinator. Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree; or, equivalent combination of education and related experience;Ability to supervise and lead, being knowledgeable and experienced in supervisory principles and practices; use discretion and sound judgment in making independent decisions in resolving problems and issues quickly and efficiently with consideration of university and department rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Ability to create and introduce a team spirit and friendly work environment to maximize productivity and efficiency; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and sound communication with individuals of diverse social and ethnic backgrounds. Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet and data entry applications;Job related knowledge and skills require considerable experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, E-Mail and the ability to use and maintaining databases; Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously, assessing problems and recommending solutions or solution procedures, and initiating the creation of policies and procedures; Excellent written and oral skills and interpersonal diplomacy; and Experience in an office environment with previous supervisory experience.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, Management, or a related field;Familiarity with University Banner system is a plus; andExtensive experience in an office environment with previous supervisory experience within a university community.*Please note that this is not a 100% remote/virtual position, but it is telework friendly.
