Stage Technician, College of Visual and Performing ArtsThe George Mason University, College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks qualified applicants for a Stage Technician within the Arts Support Umbrella of the College. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:This position would support events and academic operations in a variety of roles, including venue preparation, equipment maintenance and direct production support. Venues will primarily include Harris Theatre and the Performing Arts and Music Theater Buildings on the Fairfax campus with rare work in other venues or on other campuses. Tasks will encompass different aspects of technical theater, including but not limited to lighting, sound, video, running crew operations and stage management.A degree in a directly related field is preferred and extensive experience in the areas of sound and video are a plus.Appointment is through the end of the Spring Semester (May 18th, 2023) and hours will range up to 40 per week. Hourly rate from $19 - $21 per hour commensurate with experience. Possibility for renewing employment in the Fall upon mutual agreement.
