The Business Operations Manager oversees operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities for improvement within AARP Foundation's Property Tax-Aide. Property Tax-Aide is a free, volunteer-led program that helps eligible homeowners and renters in select states apply for property tax relief. Property Tax-Aide has served over 11,000 older adults in the last three years, and the program is positioning itself to operate in 14 states, including the District of Columbia by 2024.
Reporting to the Director of Solutions and Partnerships, the Business Operations Manager provides program operational support for both internal operations and the service delivery of the Property Tax-Aide program, including in the following areas: maintenance and oversight of systems critical to daily operations, such as relief application software and a volunteer record database ; serving as the main point of contact for internal departments and external vendors; ensuring that volunteers have all the tools required to assist taxpayers receive property tax relief benefits.

Responsibilities
- Ensures adherence to operations standards governance.
- Consults with functional team members regarding a wide range of operational issues.
- Gathers, analyzes, reports, and maintains data, information, and statistical metrics from a variety of sources that support decision-making, including identifying relevant benchmarking tools.
- Identifies, investigates analyzes and recommends alternative solutions to management regarding operational, management and administrative actions/issues.
- Responsible for business, program user data and operational analysis and support for assigned department/programs.
- Uses various databases to manage Foundation processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree with 3 or more years of working experience in private or social sector
- Entrepreneurial-minded problem solver and self-starter
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and start-up like environment
- Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and tasks
- Ability to engage key stakeholders to remove roadblocks and successfully implement program elements
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance to include ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
- Passion for working with vulnerable or underserved populations
- Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance or Marketing and CRM software
