The Manager, Business Operations supports that Tax-Aide program. Tax-Aide has over 25K volunteers, operates in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and serves over 1.2 million taxpayers. The role ensures the annual budgets, quarterly forecasting, accruals, reclassification, and overall financial analysis is conducted. The Manager will lead the grant management cycle from application to closeout. This role ensures that products placed with the Print Center of Excellence are adequately produced and fulfilled to ensure on-time availability for the Tax-Aide program. Provides program operational support for a variety of projects, programs, and initiatives that are typically division-wide or organization-wide. Manages the preparation, consolidation, and reporting on expenditures. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline operational processes and develops new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective management of all operational areas, including compliance with program policy, procedures, performance, and government regulations as needed.
  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes, and recommends alternative solutions to a wide range of operational, management, and administrative actions/problems.
  • Manages program/department assets and budgets.
  • Develops and manages a high performing team of people managers and individual contributors.
  • Analyzes and directs program resource planning, business requirements and needs assessments, including the operating system, software, and hardware, security and core infrastructure services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years experience with program financials, to include accounting and financial planning and analysis.
  • 3+ years federal grants management experience, from application to closeout.
  • 3+ years people management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience with financial and budgetary systems for reporting, forecast and analysis.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
