Summary

Seeking a Systems Engineering, Senior Manager with eight (8) years of experience. This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a high-performance team responsible for supporting our federal client.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, designs, and manages address space for both on-premises and cloud networks
  • Interacts with development and operations teams to better understand enterprise impact of new traffic streams
  • Provides support for the full life cycle management of network devices
  • Proactive health, capacity, failover planning, lifecycle management, lab testing, and obsolescence management in the core network
  • Oversees compliance with change control and incident management processes
  • Provides technical oversight to customer's network architecture
  • Plans, designs, implements, and manages customer's wireless network infrastructure
  • Recommends changes to existing infrastructure to better suit customer needs
  • Drafts recommendations and guidance for budgeting of network equipment
  • Improves network performance by troubleshooting problems in network hardware and software such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices
  • Manages overall day-to-day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance, and end user satisfaction
  • Ensures network performance and SLAs are met
  • Manages strategic relationships with key IT product and service providers
  • Assesses the relative impact of IT industry trends to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects
  • Interfaces with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyzes and predicts trends to develop long range plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness
  • Participates in IT strategy planning activities
  • Oversee the strategic planning, procurement, implementation, security, protocols, and management of Information Technology solutions in use by OCERS and the IT operational activities associated with them.

Required Qualifications
  • United States citizenship is required
  • Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) is required within 60 days of employment
  • At least 8 years of networking experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration
  • Strong management and people development skills
  • Understanding of ITIL practices
  • Ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage internal and external projects from inception to completion
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions as well as documenting them and presenting them to senior management
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading edge technologies
  • Experience implementing packages and working with vendors
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
