Seeking a Systems Engineering, Senior Associate with eight (8) years of experience. This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a high-performance team responsible for supporting our federal client.
Responsibilities
- The individual selected for this position will be the lead of the Storage Team and will be assigned to work full time at a customer site in Bethesda, MD. This individual will provide Storage Services and architect, engineer, install, manage, operate, and maintain Storage Infrastructure and related components and connectivity at the customer site, and at remote datacenters worldwide.
- Responsible for applications systems analysis and programming activities for Government and commercial locations.
- Identifies changes in computer and systems technology and interprets their meaning to senior management, bringing current and future knowledge of technology and systems as applied to the client's requirements.
- Provides technical assistance to facilitate planning and directing the design, installation, modification and
- operation of an information systems capability.
- Assigns personnel to various projects and directs their activities, reviews, and evaluates their work and prepares performance reports
- This work may be done independently or as part of a team.
- Lead IT projects encompassing the design, deployment, maintenance, and evolution of on-prem & Azure cloud-based systems
- Lead, Coordinate, and Troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues to minimize downtime
- Document all platform service processes and procedures and maintain the artifacts in a document repository.
- Perform systems operation support, including storage and server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components.
- Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution in support of customer requirements
- Support data center consolidation efforts
- Provide expertise and assistance in migrations to managed service(s)
- Patch management for Storage and backup systems
- Deploy and enforce security standards developed by the DHS and HHS
- Manage and maintain storage appliances (Dell Isilon, Dell Unity, Equal Logic)
- Manage and maintain backup appliances (Cohesity, Commvault)
- Implement, enforce, and improve processes and procedures
Required Qualifications
- United States citizenship is required
- Minimum 8 Years of experience
- This position requires an engineer to assist with the architecture, engineering, and administration of the Storage Infrastructure.
- Must be able to support requirements from the customer and to maintain the Dell EMC Isilon, Dell EMC Unity, and Cohesity Data Protect Platform solutions in test and production.
- Solid hands-on knowledge of Dell EMC Isilon and Unity storage solutions is required for this position.
- Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interface with customers on site and with staff in the central office in Bethesda, MD.
- Self-starter who can work with limited supervision.
- Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination.
Desired Qualifications
- Configuration management experience, either with windows or open-source tools
- Expert knowledge block, file, object level storage
- Hands-on technical experience supporting, managing, and deploying Storage and Backup systems
- Ideal candidate will be personable, articulate and will focus on making sure that the customer's IT needs are met quickly and effectively.
