Summary

The MIL Corporation is looking for a Journeyman A/V Engineer & Installation Lead (Engineering, Senior Analyst) to support tasking involving design, installation, and support of Audio-Visual (A/V) and Video Teleconference (VTC) systems that support communications across multiple security levels. This position spans both design engineering and leading installation teams.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct system and subsystem engineering analysis and captures system and external interface requirements.
  • Perform customer-facing activities such as attending design meetings, creating, and presenting design reviews, and facilitating System Operational and Verification Test (SOVT).
  • Understand government AV system architecture, conducts market research and trade studies.
  • Read and interpret cable block diagrams and cable run sheets.
  • Review and redline integration, test/evaluation, and Installation Drawing Package (IDP) for electronic equipment/systems and subsystems.
  • Utilize documentation for Test and Evaluation Master Plans and Information Assurance approval documentation.
  • Perform system sustainment, fielding validation, and verification testing, production engineering and installation, and technical system issue resolution.
  • Lead cross-functional infrastructure and A/V installation teams to perform site setup, installation, and functional verification on installed systems.

Travel

Up to 50% of the time, to CONUS and OCONUS sites as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Eight (8) years or more of related experience designing, installing, and supporting multi-security-level A/V and VTC systems for US Government facilities.
  • Direct experience with JWICS and SIPRNET VTC networks.
  • Direct experience with equipment from multiple A/V, and VTC suppliers.
  • Certifications in A/V or VTC technologies.
  • Direct experience in C5ISR communications system development, including familiarity with programming of A/V and other specialized hardware.
  • Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in hot humid places, as well as cold places.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination.

Desired Qualifications
  • Any CTS Certification.
  • Direct experience with classified or restricted access network systems
  • Experience with Cisco video conferencing systems and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge/experience with AMX AV equipment.
  • Knowledge/experience with Crestron AV equipment.
  • Knowledge/experience with Extron AV equipment.
  • Experience with different video wall Technologies and designs
  • Experience with computer software including web video capturing systems, web video encoding, and codecs.
  • Experience with controlling room environmentals (i.e., lighting and shades) from an installation perspective.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college. A high school diploma and six (6) years of work experience related to the position or an associate degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Clearance
