Primary Purpose

Responsible for assisting the day-to-day operations and communication of global group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and accident plan, flexible spending plan and wellness programs). Skilled in answering challenging questions, understanding various employee situations and emotions and responds to changing circumstances and needs to pave the way for a connected and trusted experience.

This role must be highly attuned to how people are responding and focus on details of each individual case. They must step back from these cases to see emerging patterns and adjust processes and support mechanisms as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develops effective communications to improve understanding of benefit plans
  • Partner in the design, development and administration of North American benefit programs such a medical, dental, vision, life insurance/AD&D plans; wellness program, 401K plans, flexible spending plans; and voluntary benefits
  • Act as subject matter expert for North American benefit programs
  • Coordinate with benefit brokers in countries to review and recommend changes to management that align with local market and c oordinates annual benefit renewal for Canadian and US plans
  • In coordination with Human Resources, supports the execution of all Leaves of Absences, including employee communications, legal compliance, and management of leave tracking
  • Acts as a liaison between all global entities regarding benefits administration
  • Responsible for benefit invoice processing, reconciliation and coordinating timely payment with Finance
  • Performs due diligence pertaining to benefits for acquisitions;ensures a smooth transition to company benefits by acquired entities, which may be required entities, which may include legacy 401K Plans, assumption of seller plans through defined transition periods, and all reporting that may be required for legacy seller plans
  • Understand and advise management and employees on available local retirement plans
  • Ensuring Emmes benefits and leave of absence policies comply with local legislative requirements
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, as well as ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees
  • Collaborates with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for accuracy of ADP employee benefit records including all updates
  • Responds to internal and external customer inquiries and escalates as appropriate
  • Develops and maintains communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits offerings
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field with at least 5-7 years of progressive experience administering benefits in North America
  • Demonstrated high level of experience and proficiency using automated systems to administer benefit programs
  • Knowledge of North America government regulations as they apply to benefit & retirement programs, company policies, and operations
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with ERISA, FMLA, Disability, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125 plans
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required for interfacing with all levels of management
  • Detailed orientated
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others
  • Effective project management and complex problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
