This position provides accounting functions to NW Capital Management and its subsidiaries to include reconcilement of all general ledger accounts, revenue accruals, commission calculations, fixed assets and accounts payable.
Responsibilities
- Prepares monthly financial reports, such as Balance Sheet, Income and Expense Report, prepaid schedules
- Assists in month-end and year-end closings
- Assists in preparation for the year-end audit and any interim audit
- Maintains intercompany accounting between parent and related subsidiaries
- Prepare & gather data for annual budget process
- Performs balancing, reconciliation, research, and problem solving on a variety of general ledger accounts
- Processes invoices and issues payment checks or automatic payments to vendors
- Maintains vendor files
- Process check deposits for subsidiaries and records all ACH payments from Insurance Carriers
- Processes Insurance Agency revenue and calculates commissions for Agents using Vertafore AMS360 software
- Backup to CFO for calculation of Financial Advisors commissions
- Completes monthly referral report for payment of employee referrals
- Maintains Fixed Asset System and records monthly depreciation
- Records Monthly Insurance revenue accruals
- Records bi-monthly payroll
- Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations, Internal Audit and all related Credit Union policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years' of progressive accounting experience
- Experience preparing monthly financial statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Attention to detail
Preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Vertafore AMS360 and Sage 50 Accounting Software
