Duties

  • You will monitor program operations to determine the need for reallocation of resources.
  • You will analyze financial or budget information to determine program effectiveness.
  • You will develop spreadsheets to track, analyze, and report status of funds.
  • You will collect, compile, or organize data for review by others.
  • You will present reports on issues (e.g., budget, problem resolution, management planning, policy issues) to managers.
  • You will prepare written reports from analysis of financial databases.
  • You will serve as the Primary Point of Contact in the timely review and certification of travel requests using the Defense Travel System.
  • You will process incoming reimbursable funding documents and miscellaneous documents through the funds workflow process using eTracker, CFMS and Maximo database.
  • You will analyze funding status to insure sufficient project funds are available and take appropriate steps to get funds assigned as needed.
  • You will assist in coordinating briefings involving preparing texts, graphs, charts to effectively express information in written and oral presentations.
  • You will develop various automated reports for use in analyzing trends affecting project execution and monitoring funding.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Analyzes existing and projected resources to identify problems and solutions; 2) Maintains program data records to substantiate recommendations; and 3) Assists management with compiling/analyzing statistical and other various types of data, while ensuring the accuracy of information collected; and 4) Ensures the supervisor is briefed on any issues regarding reports and correspondence. and 5) Applies budget and accounting principles on various reports.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Applies analytical and evaluative methods to determine discrepancies, variances, omissions and/or conflicting financial data in various reports; and 2) Provides advice and support on program funding and related policies, procedures, and requirements; 3) Utilizes various computer programs including databases and spreadsheets (E.g. Microsoft Office products, Defense Travel System (DTS), COGNOS) to assist in entering, correcting, and retrieving financial data; 4) Reviews and approves travel orders in Defense Travel System (DTS); and 5) Provides support to the Senior Program Analysts as needed.

Education

If using education in lieu of specialized experience:

GS-07: You may qualify with the following substitution of education: 1) One full year of graduate level education; OR 2) Have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement; OR 3) Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related

Work Environment: The work normally will be performed in an office setting in a work area that is adequately lighted, climate controlled, and ventilated.

Physical Demands: Most of the work is performed while sitting comfortably at a desk or workstation, although some walking to other offices and carrying large reports and supplies is required.
