Senior Associate, Process Management (Engagement)

The Retail Managing Data Steward Team at Capital One offers a unique opportunity to partner with the Bank data community to provide education and guidance toward Enterprise data policy compliance. We use data analytics to inform our priorities, opportunities and modernization efforts while ensuring that our data is registered, protected, and secure. Our group is driving a culture change where data management is top of mind for our associates, and you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in making this happen.

As a Senior Associate of Process Management, you will help deliver data-related processes that mitigate risk, ensure policy compliance, and drive results. You will work closely with product and technology teams, multiple business segments and our risk and compliance partners to ensure the Retail Bank data community is educated about their roles and responsibilities, aware of upcoming deliverables, and informed of tools and features that can assist them. You will also help implement automated monitoring mechanisms and metrics and improve reporting to Accountable Executives and Stakeholders. You may also lead or engage in critical departmental or cross-functional organizational initiatives and projects that rationalize and improve existing processes. You will play a key role in delivering well-managed, re-imagined and streamlined processes that impact the company's data and our customers' lives. In this position, you will contribute immediately, strengthening well-managed best practices and implementing modernization efforts.

General Responsibilities:

As a Senior Process Manager you will:
  • Develop subject matter expertise on Capital One's Information and Data Management Policy and Retail Bank's data management processes
  • Engage with the Retail data community as a champion of data management policies; answer questions and provide subject matter expertise on data management processes
  • Collect data and information and use analytics and reporting to recommend enhancements or mitigation of identified gaps
  • Draft and lead the development of effective communications materials to support critical data management processes
  • Develop and maintaining formal process documentation including procedures and process flow diagrams
  • Collaborate with partners and key stakeholders to design, develop and deliver training strategies and programs related to data management processes and best practices, to include leveraging existing resources and training materials
  • Build plans to include learner data and feedback, measurement and trending to assess progress and refine learning as necessary
  • Lead smaller process improvement work and collaborate with teammates on larger initiatives


A qualified candidate will have:
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence partners across multiple levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an agile environment
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to adapt to change quickly
  • A solid grasp of Process management concepts and Agile experience
  • The ability to be Technology fluent (or conversational) with a comfort level working in a technology world


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in Process management
  • At least 1 year of experience in Project management
  • At least 1 year of experienceworking in a data management role within a data management organization


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Process management
  • 2+ years of experience in Project management
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • 1+ year experience working with Risk and Compliance Officers and Auditors.
  • 1+ year experience working with data and automation tools
  • 1+ year experience using learning technologies such as Enterprise LMS (Learning Management System ) , or social learning platforms, or online learning content providers
  • 1+ year of experience working with data languages and platforms
