Under the supervision of the Civil Case Processing supervisor, this position performs a wide variety of complex legal and technical processes. These tasks may include processing law and domestic cases.

Compensation: The selected applicant's starting hourly rate will be in the minimum to midpoint range ($15.0407 to $20.0538) of the advertised compensation range. Promotional rules apply for current Fairfax County Government and Fairfax County Public Schools employees.

This position is part-time for 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Due to the nature of responsibilities and front-facing customer service, this position requires physical presence at the work location.

Fiscal Administration
Maintains files;
Distributes reports;
Performs simple data entry into internal agency system.

Produces and/or hand distributes simple documents (e.g., flyers).

General Administrative
Performs routine, simple filing and non-critical copying;
Collates documents;

Receptionist/Public Contact
Refers calls;
Greets visitors;
Gives standard information in response to phone or in-person inquiries.

Information Systems/Software
Performs simple data entry into single screen.

Files non-critical records;
Photocopies non-critical items.

Employment Standards

Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation.

  • One or more years of Court and/or legal experience.
  • Cashiering, and/or customer service experience.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work with limited direction to address identified
  • objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience using Court Case Management systems, scanning and imaging
  • software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook).
