Manager, Learning - Commercial Bank

Capital One is looking for a Learning Manager to support Commercial Bank Human Resources imperatives. The talented individual will work closely with business leaders and HR staff to consult, design, develop, and deliver learning experiences for associates. This individual will partner closely with key business partners to translate business intent into engaging learning materials, with a focus (though not exclusively) on digital-first learning methods.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Partner with business leaders to understand business needs, and manage the team that designs and delivers custom learning programs
  • Work with Learning Experience Designer and SMEs to design, develop and deploy blended learning touch points in digital, video, audio, mobile, experiential and traditional learning formats
  • Measure the effectiveness of custom training programs; share results and partner with credit leaders to improve learner reach and impact
  • Oversee strategy and design of peer-to-peer subject matter experts that contribute to the design and/or delivery of the custom learning solution
  • Use design thinking practices to understand, design, and iterate on custom learning programs
  • Manage the ongoing process of training program review, delivery, measurement, reporting, and revision
  • Create testing, evaluation and performance feedback processes
  • Provide project management for implementing learning strategies, including business proposals that reflect budget, milestones, etc.
  • Develop, maintain, implement, and monitor training programs for the business, to be delivered through classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, online programs, conferences, and workshops
  • Assist with the development of overall strategic plans relative to training by evaluating the needs of the group(s) and coordinating training programs and schedules accordingly
  • Be a leader and manage a team of learning associates, including facilitators, instructional and digital developers, and consultants


Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning design and development
  • At least 3 years of experience in client consulting or performance consulting or a combination of both
  • At least 3 years of experience leading projects or working in Agile teams or a combination of both
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Adult Learning, Master's Degree in Learning & Development, Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Master's Degree in Learning Design, Master's Degree in Educational Technology
  • Professional Human Resources Certification or Senior Professional Human Resources certification or coaching certification
  • At least 5 years of experience in learning design and development
  • At least 5 years of experience in curriculum development or learning program management
  • At least 5 years of experience in corporate learning strategy, design and development
  • At least 3 years of experience working on an Agile team

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $124,022 - $146,318 for Learning Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
