Dewberry is currently seeking a Director of Procurement to join our Accounting & Finance team in Fairfax, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and management of the Procurement program organization, and interface with stakeholders across the organization (staff size and $ spend anticipated)
  • Develop and implement a firm wide sub-contractor program
  • Responsible for directing and overseeing the purchasing activities related to the acquisition of supplies and services in support of operations; and in accordance with Government FAR/DFARS regulations and Company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for managing indirect procurement activities companywide. Lead effort of renewal of major vendor contracts
  • Work with c-suite leadership to develop and manage enterprise-wide objectives
  • Oversees Dewberry's supplier management program, including supplier diversity program. Ensures supplier performance evaluations are completed and used in the vendor/subcontractor selection process and other Quality requirements
  • Provides expertise in identifying potential procurement problems or conflicts, analyzing impact/ramifications and resolving issues
  • Participates with management in continuous improvement and streamlining activities to ensure compliance with government and company policies and procedures
  • Oversee preparation of Contractor Procurement System Review (CPSR) audit
  • Lead implementation of Procurement to Pay system within the new ERP system, including design, documentation and setting up training program
  • Communicate with and educate others in the organization regarding effective and compliant purchasing strategies and practices, and audit current state for compliance and continuous improvement
  • Lead the development or revisions to Dewberry policies, procedures, and processes as relates to Procurement activities
  • Champions, coaches, and motivates team members and assists in the development and training of procurement personnel
  • Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Undergraduate degree and 15+ years of experience, 5 of which should be in management
  • Excellent technical and functional knowledge of purchasing concepts, practices, procedures and regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Supplement (DFARS)
  • Persuasive presentation skill, business acumen, team player
  • Excellent negotiation skills/techniques and experience
  • Advanced analytical skills and business acumen to make sound management decisions and recommendations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience and strong supervisory skills and experience in leading team
  • Demonstrated initiative with results in dynamic environments
  • Purchasing and Property Certificates such as CPM, CPSM, CPPS/CPPA/CPPM a Plus
  • Experience and working knowledge Deltek/VantagePoint Procurement module or other similar ERP System a plus
