Job Description

Do you want to work at the intersection of technology and media? This HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical HR support to our Engineering teams . This HRBP will provide functional expertise, leadership, support and guidance to management and employees. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders, managers, and HR colleagues to build a high-performance organization and culture that recognizes and values differences where teamwork is expected and employees do their best work. Provides deep expertise in organizational design and structure, employee relations, development, training, on-boarding, off-boarding, and the continuous evolution of HR processes that support Engineering's growth. This role will also shape Engineering's HR practices by communicating philosophies, processes, and policies to management and employees, both individually and in group-settings.

This role will also shape Engineering's HR practices by communicating philosophies, processes, and policies to management and employees, both individually and in group-settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively shape the culture of Engineering, particularly as it relates to our catalysts (ideas, speed, ownership and leadership), as well as promoting our bedrock value of integrity
- Serve as a sounding board for managers who may be struggling to resolve difficult issues, confront problems, raise standards, and improve hiring practices
- Offer practical advice to managers and push to increase their leadership capacity
- Conduct and resolve investigations related to complaints in Engineering
- Support onboarding and acclimation for all newly hired employees in Engineering, as well as 30-, 60-, and 90- day check-ins.
- Conduct exit interviews, compiling data into themes, and sharing those themes with leadership; lead action-planning to address recurring themes
- Support training for managers and sometimes for employees, including training around goal-setting, giving and receiving feedback, and preparing for and conducting appraisals. Work with managers in the process of writing and conducting appraisals with the aim of delivering more honest, balanced, comprehensive, and developmental appraisals
- Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition team regarding their recruiting for Engineering positions
- This role will support the HR function and The Post's Talent Strategy for Growth (six major pillars included Leadership, Culture, Diversity, Talent Marketing, Workplace Technology, and Data & Analytics) by tailoring our initiatives in each of these six areas for Engineering. Connect the broader work of the company for remote employees so that they feel connected to and involved in The Post's mission
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years as a Human Resources Generalist in increasingly responsible roles, or and equivalent combination of experience and education
- A minimum of 1-2 years working in the technology space; either for a tech company or as a technical recruiter
- Demonstrated strong judgement and Employee Relations experience with working knowledge of other HR functional areas
- Willingness and ability to change altitudes, with proven facility in shifting between strategic, tactical, and sometimes transactional areas of focus
- Experience working with dispersed teams and fostering connections across geographies and time zones
