As an Accounting Manager on the Close, Consolidations and Reporting team you will have a unique perspective into Capital One's overall financial performance. Our team is responsible for managing the close and consolidations of our monthly results, presenting these results to the Controller and his leadership team, and producing external reporting, such as the Canada Branch, Foundation, and Pension financial statements. You will also work with an outstanding team to identify process efficiency and implement solutions. You will have the opportunity to be involved in progressive project work with exposure to senior management and various departments across the Company.

Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and summarization of consolidated results into a presentation for senior leadership
  • Build cross functional relationships to stay attuned to business changes and key events that will impact financial results
  • Ensure our consolidated / reported results are complete and accurate and in accordance with the appropriate accounting standards
  • Assist in the preparation and review of periodic reports
  • Work with reporting stakeholders to ensure alignment on quantitative and qualitative disclosures
  • Participate in key corporate projects such as system upgrades, process automations, and enhancements
  • Help evolve our processes into the next generation by implementing emerging technology tools to reimagine the future


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of accounting, finance, and/or audit experience, or a combination
  • At least 1 year of people management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of external reporting experience
  • 2+ years of operational accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
