Job Description

The Sr. Purchasing Specialist will support the management and optimization of The Post's internal contracts process as well as corporate purchasing/T&E card programs. You will lead and drive process improvement initiatives and education across the company. You will provide ongoing support in the daily purchase operations and projects. You will research and evaluate vendors, provide data analysis, training, and customer service for internal and external business partners. This highly visible role will help the company meet our evolving global needs.

Responsibilities
  • P-Card and T&E Card Program administration, training, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Compile and maintain purchasing contracts and company leases in the contracts database.
  • Lead efforts on auditing and educational support for department POC's on various purchasing programs.
  • Assist management in monitoring compliance, education efforts and updating purchasing policies for the organization.
  • Assist internal business owners with research for the best products and suppliers in terms of value, delivery schedules and quality; propose cost savings opportunities based on findings.
  • Perform vendor account reviews and spend analysis annually.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets from key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Perform risk assessments for new & existing vendors assisting business owners as needed.
  • Directly manage a selected group of service relationships with suppliers.
  • Provide ongoing support for front end business owners on supplier relationships
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and departmental projects as needed.
  • Develop purchasing process documentation and training material.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training across the organization on purchasing processes and best practices.
  • Support day-to-day operation, month end activities, and provide internal/external customer service


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, or Business Admin. preferred).
  • Certification in Purchasing preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or related field
  • Experience in audit, process enhancement, training, OR contract management.
  • Experience in Oracle and i-Procurement is preferred.
  • Experience managing corporate card programs preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Access database is preferred
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
