Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Out-Patient Scheduler who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Out-Patient Scheduler, you will:
Insured patients:
• Confirm coverage requirements for scheduled patients
• Confirm eligibility for insured patients
• Obtain needed authorization for service where applicable for insured patients
• Monitor patient service counts to ensure services are aligned for payments
Uninsured patients:
• Identify appropriate sources for patients based upon FPL guidelines
• Appropriately assess ability for payment plans or discount plans
• Appropriately refer patients to other payment sources (i.e. Medicaid eligibility vendor)
• Scheduling and coverage authorization of scheduled services
• May require physician/clinical communication
• Pre-registration of scheduled services to include coverage verifications and authorizations
• Assisting patients in completing AHC charitable applications at the medical centers
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.
• Schedule exams-coordinating technologist, radiologist schedules for combined procedures. Coordinate with technologist for STAT and same-day add-ons.
• Act as a liaison between patients and clinical staff.
• Explain testing procedures to patient and interview patient prior to scheduling examination to obtain pertinent history for imaging documentation and correct scheduling.
• Review safety scheduling questions and protocols.
• Consult with patients concerning expectations, procedure preparation.

Qualifications include:
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience within a healthcare financial environment - can include insurer or public health setting as well.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.

Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm

Friday 8am-5pm

Required to work on Saturdays
